He Made a Faithful Decision to Move to Chicago
Al Capone’s move to Chicago marked a significant turning point in his life. Despite his womanizing and criminal activities, he had a surprisingly strong love for his wife and son. However, his dedication to his family took a backseat when he was presented with an offer he couldn’t refuse.
Capone aimed to become the most powerful and wealthy figure in the criminal underworld, amassing a net worth that would eventually reach $100 million, equivalent to roughly $1.5 billion today. His old mentor, Johnny Torrio, recognized his potential and invited him to join him in Chicago, where Capone would establish his kingdom. Though Chicago brought him fame and fortune, it also brought him syphilis, the disease that would eventually claim his life.
