#4: Walking in Temperatures Below -60°C
Few people can imagine walking for days on end in weather that turns breath to ice the moment it leaves your lips. However, Karl did just that while traveling through eastern Siberia. Temperatures dipped below -60°C, cold enough to freeze exposed skin within seconds.

Each day, he layered clothing with surgical precision, knowing that a misstep in preparation could be fatal. The snow muffled every sound except his own breath. Sometimes he didn’t see another human for weeks.
