When Exotic Pets Turn on Owners

In 2003, a chimpanzee named Travis escaped from his owner’s car in Stamford, Connecticut, and casually strolled into traffic like he owned the place. He opened a cop’s cruiser door, tried to climb a light pole, and brought rush hour to a hilarious, chaotic halt.

Police used snacks to coax him back into the vehicle. The incident ended peacefully, but it was a wild sight for drivers. No one guessed that just a few years later, Travis would become infamous for something much darker.
